Congratulations to FASB Major Stars 16U Blue & 10U for Winning Championships

We started our summer season this weekend in championship fashion. The FASB 16U Blue ran the table and posted a perfect 6-0 record in route to winning the Perfect Game Memorial Day Madness Tournament and the FASB 10U rebounded from a rough Saturday that included two defeats to win the USSSA Scrapyard USSSA Memorial Day Championship Tournament. Both the 16U Blue and 10U played with the hearts of Champions all weekend.

It was especially great to witness our 10U team get back up off the mat after being knocked down pretty bad on Saturday. Talk about a team of young men answering the bell and playing with a chip on their shoulders. We are so proud of the way they all responded on Sunday. The 10U’s fire, passion and determination on Sunday was a true testament of their growth and character.

Our 16U Blue team was absolutely spectacular this weekend. It was rewarding to see all their hard work pay off in the form of a CHIP on the first competition weekend of the summer. Defensively the 16U Blue team played errorless baseball in all six games, ran the bases aggressively and did an outstanding job with situational hitting on offense.

We had a lot of outstanding individual performances this weekend. In the 16U tournament Dana Williams and Jayden Blalack was lights out closing out games on the mound and Darrell Williams Jr., Camden Cash and Elijah Victorian had productive weekends at the plate. The infield defense was lead by shortstop Jayden Blalack and Avery Spriggs was outstanding behind the plate. For the 10U Mason Cotton continued his dominance in the batters box with a key 3-Run homer and on the mound he closed out the semi-final game and the championship game respectively. Second Baseman Cruz Hernandez was clutch offensively and him and Shortstop Michael Wightman was the glue to the team’s excellent defense. Max Carter started all 4 games in the outfield and made his pitching debut. It was an all-around outstanding weekend for Max. But their were a few players that were the Stars of Stars and they were rewarded for their performances.

The 16U Blue had two Tournament MVP’s.

Adrian Garcia was named the Perfect Game Memorial Day Madness Tournament MVP after going 2-0 on the mound and delivering clutch RBI hits all weekend. Adrain was the starting pitcher in the Championship game and pitched four scoreless innings to earn the win.

Carson Canady was named the Perfect Game Memorial Day Most Outstanding Pitcher after posting a 2-0 record on the mound and pitching 6 scoreless innings. Carson was the starting pitcher for the Pool Play Game 1 on Friday night and Game 1 of the Championship Round on Sunday.

The MVP for the 10U team was Tristan McSwain.

Tristan was an all-around star this weekend. He was the winning pitcher in the championship game and hit a big 3-run home run in the semi-finals to spark a rally. Tristan was also called on to play CF and 1B and made some key plays defensively. Tristan has been working extremely hard and it was wonderful to see him rewarded for his efforts this weekend.

Join me in congratulating the FASB 16U Blue and 10U for representing the organization in Championship fashion!
